Harley E. Rouda Co. was established in central Ohio in 1956 and was renamed HER Realtors in 1977. In 2002 HER Realtors and Realty One merged to form the fifth largest real estate services firm named Real Living Inc., serving home buyers and sellers throughout the Midwest. Today the Company boasts a sales force of over 5,000 agents working out of over 100 offices and annual sales reaching almost $7 billion. Real Living is primarily a real estate brokerage firm, however, it also provides services related to mortgages, title and relocations.

The following are the Company’s milestone achievements during 50 plus years of history:

- 1956 - Harley E. Rouda started his real estate career in the basement of his home.
- 1977 - Harley E. Rouda Co. officially changed its name to HER Realtors.
- 1981 - The first HER Realtors franchise division was created in Chillicothe, Ohio.
- 1983 – Established mortgage services to help homebuyers in the purchase of their new homes.
- 1995 - Introduced Title Insurance Services.
- 1997 - HER Realtors sales exceeded $1 billion.
- 2002 - Real Living Inc. was formed by the merger of HER Realtors and Realty One.
